Smooth Strokers

From Uwphitau

The Smooth Strokers is a team intimately connected to the members of Phi Kappa Tau, but has one non-member in its rowing history. The goal of the Smooth Strokers has, and always will be, to foster a spirit of brotherly fellowship and hugeness development. Each boat must also always be on alert for an opportunity to sail for the open seas. If given the chance, the Smooth Strokers will row to freedom. The vision of freedom was nary seen more clearly, ere the infamous "rogue boat" escapade on May 21st, 2008. With the only coach preoccupied at the dock, the Strokers seized the window of opportunity and made a break for the great wide blue, only to be stopped just short of the Laurelhurst Peninsula by a disgruntled coach.

Traditions include throwing the coxswain into Lake Washington after the final race (rowers are encouraged to join in). This tradition should continue whether or not there are 8 million gallons of raw sewage spilt into Union Bay three days prior.
